Today we are constantly bombarded with all kinds of different types of face masks. But which type is best? Which one should you wear? We summarize it briefly.
We like to start with a message of general use: please leave the medical masks to those who need them most: The care staff, the care providers, the medical staff who are "on the frontline" every day. It is important that they have the very best medical equipment available.
That beeing said, let's take a look at the different options.
In recent weeks there has been a popular movement of creating homemade masks, flung together from old T-shirts, scarves or pieces of fabric. This is of course an easy and creative solution, but think before you start and inform yourself about the requirements (material, filters, ...). Something is better than nothing, but not everything is just as good.
If you want to play it safe you can opt for a reusable cotton face mask. Not only do they meet the requirements, they are also more comfortable than the average face mask. They fit perfectly on the face, which guarantees that you won't touch the mask with your hands. In addition, cotton is a breathable material - which is recommended for people who quickly feel suffocated when wearing a face mask.

Finally, there are also disposable masks. These are often sold in larger numbers and are a bit cheaper. However, that certainly does not mean that they are less safe: they are made of several layers of synthetic material. Thanks to the folds in the design, they slide pleasantly over your entire face. It is recommended to wear this type of mask for a maximum of 8 hours and then throw it away.

To conclude, we would like to inform you that, apart from wearing a face mask, keep yourself safe by following the rules, keeping your distance and washing your hands regularly. Stay safe!
